UPDATE: THIS EVENT IS CANCELED. SUSTAINABLE RED BANK WILL RETURN IN DECEMBER!
This is a monthly series on issues surrounding sustainability, the environment, and climate change, and how you can make a difference locally.
For November, instead of our usual discussion, we will be holding a Sustainable Thanksgiving Cook-Off! All are welcome to submit. Here are the rules:
Your entry must FEATURE a local ingredient. Local means GROWN IN NEW JERSEY. Ingredients from outside the state are allowed, as long as the local ingredient is one of the most prominent ones. Please make enough to provide small portions to at least 15 people.
Bonus if the dish features home-grown, organic, vegetarian or vegan foods!
It must be prepared PRIOR TO ARRIVAL. We unfortunately do not have the facilities to do any of the cooking here. We will provide tables, plates, utensils, and a few snacks and refreshments of our own. We will also have access to electric outlets if your dish needs to be warmed.
The winner will be chosen by popular ballot, and will receive a prize!
If you’d like to make a dish, please let us know with the registration form below. This is not required, but it is strongly recommended — if we don’t get enough sign-ups in advance, we will be cancelling the event.
