We are holding a Super Smash Bros Tournament! All are welcome, we’ll have pizza for everybody and prizes (Day Passes to Yestercades in Red Bank) for the winner! This event is FREE.
The rules:
Anyone can play. If we have enough players, we’ll split into a kids bracket and an adult bracket (13+).
The style of the tournament — single elimination or Round Robin — will be decided on the day depending on the number of attendees.
We will accept new competitors until the end of the first round. That could be as early as 12, it could be as late as 1:30. Come late at your own risk!
All players get to choose their fighters*. The two competitors may decide between themselves on a battlefield to play on, unless they take too long, in which case they will play on a random battlefield.
The matches will be timed at 2 minutes 30 seconds. Who ever has the most KOs at the end wins the match. If it’s tied, the game automatically goes to Sudden Death.
We’ll have board games and a Nintendo Wii available for free play while people wait!
*NOTE: AS OF RIGHT NOW, THE LIBRARY HAS 50 OF THE 76 POSSIBLE PLAYERS UNLOCKED. WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ALL OF THEM UNLOCKED FOR THE TOURNAMENT, BUT WE NEED PEOPLE TO COME IN AN PLAY THE GAME A BUNCH FOR THAT TO HAPPEN. THE SWITCH IS AVAILABLE FOR FREE PLAY ANY TIME THERE IS NOTHING ELSE GOING ON IN THE MEETING ROOM. ASK AT THE CHILDREN’S DESK FOR CONTROLLERS.
